ABC has joined forces with Nielsons to better track what people are watching, with a new “sync” function on the “My Generation” ipad app.  The genius of this app is that that listens to your TV, so it can deliver timed content weather your are watching it live, or on demand.


The network, in conjunction with The Nielsen Company, has rolled out a My Generation Sync iPad App within Apple’s App Store. The App is designed to be used as fans watch My Generation, which debuts on Sept. 23. It employs Nielsen’s Media-Sync Platform, an audio watermarking technology that enables the app to synch up with episodes of the show, either as they’re being broadcast or when viewers watch recordings of the show.

Users can both access complementary interactive content via the app and connect and chat with other viewers. The idea is to capture and cater to the show’s most engaged fans, said ABC officials.
